Purex® "$5000 Scholarship" Contest
RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. How to Enter: To enter the Purex® “$5000 Scholarship” Contest (“the Contest”), entrants must participate in a regional Campus Chase event. Upon registration entrants will opt into the contest. The winner will be randomly drawn from all the eligible contest entries that are received within the time limitations for this contest. No purchase necessary to enter this Contest. Limit one (1) entry per household or email address per day. All entries from individuals submitting more than one entry per household or email address per day will be void.
  2. Timing: The Contest begins at 12:00 am ET on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 and ends on Thursday, November 26, 2009 (“Contest Period”). All entries must be received by 11:59 pm ET on Thursday, November 26, 2009 (“Contest Closing Date”) to be eligible for this Contest.
  3. Sponsor: The sponsor of the Contest is Henkel Consumer Goods Canada, Inc (“Sponsor”). The administrator of the Contest is MMDI (“Administrator”).
  4. Eligibility: This Contest is open to all residents of Canada, who are current students at a Canadian post-secondary institution and the age of majority or older within the province or territory in which they reside (at the time of entry), with the exception of employees, representatives and agents of the Sponsor, Administrator, their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, franchisees, all advertising and promotional partners of the companies involved with the promotion and persons domiciled with any of the foregoing. Entries may be made only by the original, manual keystrokes of the individual entrant without assistance of any kind including mechanical, form filling or other software or robotic assistance.
  5. Prize drawing: Random drawing for the grand prize will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. The chances of being selected will depend on the number of entries received in this Contest during the Contest Period. The Sponsor will make reasonable attempts to contact selected prize entrant by telephone or email. Selected prize entrant has 72 hours to respond to the contact provided via email or phone from the time they were notified of being the selected prize entrant. Any selected prize entrant will be deemed ineligible to win a prize if he or she fails to respond within the 72 hour period following the initial notification via email or phone. A new selected prize entrant will then be selected from all remaining eligible received entries based on the same criteria outlined in these Contest rules. In order to win a prize, selected prize entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill testing question without the assistance of another person or mechanical device, and otherwise comply with these Contest rules. Before being awarded the prize, selected prize entrant must return a signed copy of the Declaration and Release form within three (3) days of the date on the accompanying notification, to confirm their understanding of the conditions applied to this Contest.
  6. Prize details: There is one (1) Grand Prize available to be won. The Grand Prize will consist of one (1) Five Thousand Dollar ($5,000.00) cheque (Cdn.) to be applied towards any Canadian post-secondary institution of the winner's choice. Prize must be accepted and redeemed as described. In the event that a prize winner is unable to redeem any or all of the prize components due to reasons beyond the control of Sponsor, Administrator or their agents, and all parties associated with this prize, no compensation or substitutions will be provided. The prize is not transferable. No modification will be made to the prize. No cash or other prize substitution is permitted. Sponsor and Administrator reserve the right to change or substitute the prize. This promotion is not combinable with any other promotion or offer.
  7. Privacy: The personal information collected from each entrant in the course of the Contest will be used for the purposes of contacting selected prize entrant and administering the Contest. The Sponsor reserves the right to reproduce, publicize and broadcast the prize winner's name, address, likeness and voice and the fact that he/she won the Contest and all matters incidental thereto, without compensation, in any advertising or publicity.
  8. Release: In consideration of being awarded the prize and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the prize winner hereby fully discharge and release each of Sponsor, Administrator, all parties and organizations involved in the prize, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, franchisees, advertising and promotional agencies and all of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively the “Releases”) from any and all past, present and future claims, demands, damages, actions or causes of action of any nature whatsoever for or by reason of any cause, matter or thing whatsoever, whether known or unknown, whether at law or in equity that he/she has, had or could have and including, without limitation, alleged negligence or gross negligence on the part of any Release(s), which the prize winner or his or her heirs, executors, administrators, successors or assigns may now or hereafter in perpetuity have against any of the Releases in connection with the Contest or participation in or any other aspect of the prize.
  9. Residents of Quebec: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie de alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
  10. Limitations of Liability: Neither Sponsor nor Administrator shall be responsible for: (i) late-received, unintelligible, incomplete, or misdirected entries; (ii) entries which fail to comply with these Contest rules; (iii) any failure of the website during the Contest Period, including any problems or technical malfunction of any computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from downloading any material in the Contest, all of which may affect a person's ability to participate in the Contest.
  11. Disputes: By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Contest rules. In the event of a dispute, entries will be deemed to have been made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted with the registration. Authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access or online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning addresses for the domain associated with the registered email address. If for any reason including but not limited to error, more prizes are claimed than are intended to be awarded according to these Contest rules, only the number and type of prizes as contemplated by these rules will be awarded. Upon discovery of such error all prize fulfillment will cease and there will be a random drawing from among all verified prize claims received by the Contest Closing Date. The draw will take place in Mississauga, Ontario at 2:00 p.m. (EST) to select a potential winner to receive the prize. The prize will be awarded to the first entrant(s) selected who correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and comply with these Contest rules.

    In the event of any disagreement as to whether a person is an entrant or a prize winner, or as to the qualification of any prize winner as to the adequacy of any prize, the decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding on all entrants.
  12. General: These Contest rules are subject to all applicable Canadian federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations, and govern all aspects of the Contest. Contest rules are subject to change without notice for any reason, including if necessary, to comply with any applicable law or policy, including any rules or policies of any regulatory body. Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw or terminate the Contest at any time without prior notice.
